The Bowden AFC Easter Cup didn’t start like champions for us. The first game was tough defensively, but it turned out to be the wake-up call we needed. ![]()
After that, everything clicked.![]()
Every single player stepped up. It wasn’t about individuals — it was a full team effort. The attitude made the difference. The boys bounced back, stayed together, and showed real character.![]()
They battled all day, finished top 2 in the group, and earned a place in the Champions League final.![]()
The final was a defensive masterclass — disciplined, strong, and fearless in a physical game. A proper team performance.![]()
Bringing the trophy home over Easter made it even better.![]()
Both coaches are proud to work with this group — seeing their growth is what it’s all about. Thanks for all the support as always.![]()

Although the second half slowed into game management and perhaps a little fatigue, the first half was one the best team performances we have seen for a while, everyone was ready, everyone was reading the game in attack and defence, and they were working really well together all over the pitch. They managed the game really well on a strange pitch with a drop off on our side that was steeper than Old Trafford's.![]()

Special mentions to the MOTMs today:![]()
- Parents' MOTM - Fletcher - a defensive understanding beyond his years, reading the game position and space knowing when to pounce and when to dribble with his quick feet.![]()
- Coaches' MOTM - Oliver (Hilton) - first game back from injury like he had never left, enjoying the battles with a cheeky smile on his face, not just in defence - causing some damage on the left wing when he settled into the different position demands.![]()
- Players' MOTM - Luca (Matthews) - working really well with the central midfielders and defenders when in the wings, and when he moved into central midfield there were some awesome attacking passes and through-balls creating chances.![]()
