In 2024, the Lizards Under-10s football team experienced a series of events that not only strengthened their camaraderie but also showcased their growing prowess on the field. The Lizards kicked off their memorable year with a visit to Wigan Athletic’s DW Stadium. Welcomed into the Family Fun Centre, the young players engaged in various football-themed activities, setting an enthusiastic tone for the day. Watching the Latics play live was a first for many, and the experience of witnessing professional footballers in action left a lasting impression, inspiring the team to emulate their heroes.
On 26 March, the excitement continued as the Lizards, alongside their friends from the Boothstown Bulldogs, attended the England Under-21s’ UEFA European Championship qualifier against Luxembourg at Bolton’s Toughsheet Community Stadium. The Young Lions delivered a spectacular performance, securing a 7-0 victory.
The atmosphere was electric, and the young attendees were thrilled by the display of skill and teamwork, further fueling their passion for the game.
