This past weekend brought festive cheer and competitive spirit to the Salford Academy Stadium as Boothstown FC hosted a thrilling Christmas Shootout to close out 2024. The highly anticipated Rylee Ryan Derby saw the Boothstown FC Lizards face off against the Boothstown FC Wasps in an unforgettable clash of local talent.
In a nail-biting match, the Lizards secured a narrow victory, demonstrating grit and teamwork under the leadership of their captain, Zachary. On the opposing side, Rylee led the Wasps with equal determination, making this derby a true showcase of the passion and talent within Boothstown FC. Both teams left it all on the pitch, embodying the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define the club.
The celebrations didn’t stop at the final whistle. To mark the occasion, the Lizards headed to The Arcade Club in Bury, home to Europe’s largest collection of arcade games. Players, accompanied by some enthusiastic parents, immersed themselves in four hours of retro gaming fun before wrapping up the evening with a delicious feast at TCB Chinese. It was a day to remember for the young players and their families alike!
